Ione Jenkins is a somatic intallation artist, sculptor and painter. She makes works which aim to explore the relationship between nature, the human nervous system, and our emotional experience. Using light-based immersive installation, her projections, sculptures and images reflect the difficult aspects of life with mental illness, whilst providing a sense of safety and respite from the outside world, creating portals to escapist dreamscapes. By inviting viewers to find a sense of romance and wonder in the everyday, she encorages connection to eachother, the natural world, and viewer’s inner worlds.
